Music survey
Here's a question for you folks. For those of you inclined to comment or email anyway. As you know, this show straddles that abyss between the music podcasts and the talk podcasts, known as the ever-elusive "variety" genre. Sure, I could just play local Atlanta music, but frankly I don't listen to too many just-music podcasts m'self, and I'm just so goddamn in love with the sound of my own voice.
What if you could have the best of both worlds? That is, if you even want just music. I've been bouncing around the notion of putting out a secondary podcast that's almost exlusively music -- I'd only pop in briefly between tracks to identify the artists -- and maybe even played at a higher quality (i.e. 128kbps, though that's unlikely b/c I feel that if you like the band so damn much you should at least go visit their website...at the very least, 96kbps, still quite listenable). And this would basically consist of the tracks played on the regular show, but in their entirety without me blathering all over them. If there wasn't much music in that episode, maybe I'd throw in a bonus track from the artist(s).
And if you're interested in the music-only bonus show, would you want it each week with the music from that episode? Or how about a once-a-month compilation from the last four shows, sort of an "All Songs BBQ'd" album? Either way, these would be sent out on a different feed, so if you don't want music shows, you don't have to subscribe to them. I'm just trying to gauge interest here.
I'll make it easy with some pre-filled-out email votes (just remember to change the (at) to @):
Yes! Music show! Either weekly or monthly is fine.
Yes! Music show! Monthly is good.
Yes! Music show! Weekly please.
I wouldn't subscribe, don't bother.
Or, of course, feel free to comment.

Heya. I like the idea of the monthly "All Songs BBQ'd" show, as I suspect trying to do a weekly one in-line with the normal show might be a bit too much work (unless you like that sorta thing ;))
Either way, I reckon it'd be cool :)
Good luck with what you decide!
I concur with Mr. Pete. A monthly one would be good...
